Cornish Pasties

The Cornish Pasties meet once a month at towers around Cornwall. We welcome anyone aged 21 or under to come and join us. Anyone able to ring rounds is able to join us, you must be accompanied by an adult (they don’t need to be a ringer!). Practices are currently attended by youth aged 10 and up from towers across the duchy. We can cater for lots of different ringing abilities, whether you want to practice call changes, methods, ringing up or anything else you can think of! We aim to give everyone an opportunity to work on whatever they’re learning in their tower, and progress, or try something that their tower can’t offer.

We also usually enter a Cornish Pasties team to the Ringing World National Youth Contest (RWNYC) each year. 2026 will be our fourth year attending the contest and the Truro Diocesan Guild of Ringers (TDGR) are usually very generous supporting members to attend the competition. Our top performance is joint fifth (of 12) in 2024 in London.

We usually meet on the last Saturday of the month, alternating between morning and afternoon practices to suit the group. Towers are across Cornwall, so that everyone should have some practices nearer to and further from them. We can often help with transport if needed.

If you’re a young ringer based in Cornwall, please get in touch at youth@tdgr.org.uk
