Coventry Spires

The Coventry Spires are a group of enthusiastic young ringers, parents and helpers who meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 14:30 until 16:00. We have a good mix of ages in the group and focus on helping the group progress their ringing repertoire and striking as a team, as well as enjoying social time and snacks together!

We aim to enter a team in to the Ringing World National Youth Competition (RWNYC) each year, which is a wonderful opportunity to meet young ringers from across the country and ring on some interesting bells. We also take part in local ringing activities and enter a team in the Guild 8 bell competition.

A Midlands group of young ringers from Coventry Spires, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and St Martins Guild (the Brumdingers) has been established. This group meets quarterly for tours, courses and a Midlands competition in the Spring as a warm up event for the RWNYC. Plus socialising and cake!

Safeguarding our young ringers is very important and we always make sure that there are leaders present with the appropriate DBS certification and Safeguarding training. We also carry out risk assessments for activities such as tours and the RWNYC. We also control communications via parents/carers.

If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Andrea Haynes on youthteam@coventrydg.co.uk and you can be added to the group email, WhatsApp group and link to the events and other details. Full details of events are only sent to a closed list people for safeguarding reasons.
