The Gloucester & Bristol DA Youth Team

The G & B Youth Team meets regularly for monthly practices at different towers within the G & B. You will get to ring on 6, 8, 10 and 12 towers and will do so with a group of friendly, enthusiastic and talented young ringers from across the G & B.

The adult team leaders are also from various towers from across the Association and we like to think we are quite good teachers! Whilst you are ringing, your parents and the team leaders will chat, drink tea, and try to eat all the cakes and sweets before you have a chance to eat them. During weekdays, in the school holidays, we arrange outings which gives you another chance to ring different bells and eat more cake. We arrange visits to really special places and we even help arrange opportunities for quarter peals and peals.

We communicate regularly by email and have a strong profile on the G & B website. We work together to help sort out things like transport.

The G & B is highly supportive of the Youth Team financially and all of Association Officers are heavily involved in Youth Team activities treating the Youth Team as a priority for the Association. The G & B Youth Team is sponsored by Avon Ropes Ltd who provide our team polo shirts.

With the G & B Youth Team, you will enjoy opportunities unavailable to most other young ringers in our Association and often your experiences will make adult ringers jealous that the G & B Youth Team wasn’t around when they were young. Our older young ringers love helping the younger ringers and everyone enjoys helping each other improve.

Every year, the G & B Youth Team goes to the the Ringing World National Youth Contest. Every member of the G & B Youth team can come, even if they are not in one of our contest teams. This is the highlight of our year and it is always an amazing day out.

The G & B Youth Team is a great way for young ringers (and their parents) to meet other ringers from across the Association and make new friends for life.
