Go Bellistic!

We are the Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers young ringers’ group and we welcome all ringers under the age of 25, although most members of the group are under 18. Our aim is to give young ringers the opportunity to meet and enjoy ringing with people of a similar age and to develop their skills.

Practices are held approximately once a month on Saturday afternoons; we visit two towers each time and enjoy refreshments in between. We visit different parts of the guild so that the same people don’t have to travel long distances every time. We have whole-day outings in school holidays too, taking a picnic lunch and plenty of cake!

Practices are open to all abilities and levels of experience; everyone is guaranteed plenty of ringing and the opportunity to do some calling if they wish. There are always sympathetic, experienced ringers on hand to lend support as necessary.

Details of practices can be found on the calendar on the guild website. Practice information is emailed out to parents, who can also join our WhatsApp group if they wish.

Since 2018 we have regularly entered a team in the Ringing World National Youth Contest (RWNYC) and have taken part in events in places such as London, Liverpool, Worcester, Exeter, York and Birmingham. Other young ringers (aged 18 and under) not in the team are strongly encouraged to come along and enjoy this fantastic annual day out; there is a lot more to it than just a competition.

Our team mascot is called Bertie; he was adopted from a charity shop and of course he comes along to all our events, wearing his Go Bellistic! purple clothing.

Please get in touch (youngringers@sdgr.org.uk) if you would like to get involved in our activities – we would love to see you!
