Sussex Young Ringers
Sussex Young Ringers (SYR) is a free initiative of the SCACR, arranging events specifically aimed at junior ringing members to get together, have fun, develop their skills and, of course, eat cake!
Our SYR activities are funded by the Sussex Young Ringers Fund (The Reg Johnson and Harold Wood Memorial Fund).
The group meets regularly for practices, outings, and social events, giving young ringers the chance to:
Ring at different towers across Sussex and beyond.
Have opportunities for practice to help develop their ringing skills.
Learn from other young ringers and experienced helpers.
Make new like-minded friends.
Young ringers of all levels are welcome.
As well as regular general practices, Sussex Young Ringers selects a competition team each year, formed of many of our more experienced members.
The competition team has taken part in the Ringing World National Youth Contest (RWNYC) since it begun in 2011, and have now won the competition on three occasions! The same team also enters the South East of England Youth Striking Contest (SEECON) annually.
Please keep an eye on the SYR diary to see all our upcoming events
